Oil painting.The inspiration for this painting came when I went to make a variation of the Thai Tom Yam soup and had gotten fresh prawns from the fishmonger.
The prawns always turn a beautiful orange when you prepare them and this was a nice contrast to the green of the pak choi, coriander and lemongrass, and the red of the chili peppers and tomato also stands out nicely. I chose a dark background as extra contrast which makes the image stand out even more. I often get the comment that people get hungry when seeing my paintings so a nice addition in a kitchen or restaurant or dining room.
