Sometimes the simplest things make the most impactful paintings. This oil painting features just three ingredients: shrimp, lettuce and lemon, which I loosely arranged in a cocktail glass in my kitchen. The dark background accentuates the vibrancy and brightness of the orange prawns that seem to jump out of the painting onto your plate. The green of the lettuce and the golden yellow of the lemon slices balance the composition.
